At the last quarterly conference Intel representatives answered about the portion of 32 nm processors in the production volume. The passage on 32 nm technology because of high demand for appropriate processors is accomplished faster than it was planned, and the company was contented by the financial results of this migration. At the beginning of the fourth quarter, this year Intel will release processors on 32 nm technology in its four factories.
As acknowledged Intel representatives, in the first quarter a certain scarcity of 32 nm processors was observed. This is completely predicted, since in the past block only 10% of supplied by company desktop processors were released on 32 nm technologies. In the portion of 45 nm processors was 87%, remained three percent were presented by 65 nm processors.
In the current block, the proportion will change: 16% of deliveries will be for 32 nm processors, 83% will be preserved for 45 nm processors, and the portion of 65 nm processors is lower than 2%. In the third quarter 65 nm processors will be one percent of deliveries, but in the fourth quarter they finally disappear. If in the third quarter the portion of 32 nm processors will be 20%, then in the fourth quarter this index will rise to 27%. It is obvious that 45 nm processors with their 73% deliveries in the desktop sector in the present year will preserve dominant position. The preponderance in favor of 32 nm technical process will be only in 2011.
