LaCie company , noted for its external disk, yesterday presented Rugged USB 3.0 - the external HDD standard size 2.5 with USB 3.0 interface, characterized by the rubberized high-impact dqw3. Special suspension and rubberized case allow the HDD to remain operable after drop from the height of up to 2,2 meters. With the overall dimensions 90 X 28 X 145 mm the mass is 241 g.  The HDD can hold 500 Gb of information and to transmit it at the rate of 110 Mbyte(s)/s on USB 3.0 interface. Video film in the HD- quality, for example, can be copied in three minutes, whereas HDD with USB 2.0 interface spends on this eight minutes. In addition to the hard disk , laCie sell the USB 3.0 controllers in the form of expansion card with PCI express or ExpressCard interface. Of course this device can work, also, with USB 2.0 interface, simply the information speed in this case will be lower. The recommended price of this device is equal to $149 with taxes.
