In the upper desktop segment part Intel and AMD have already proposed processors with six cores. However, for the server systems AMD proposes the processors opteron with 12 cores . In the recent conference, Intel described about the processors generation westmere-EX, capable of simultaneously processing 20 threads. If we consider that the technology hyper-Threading usually doubles the quantity of virtual core of Intel processors, then it is easy to surmise about the presence of ten physical core in one processor westmere-EX. Directly the announcement of these processors is planned in 2011, they will be released in 32 nm technology and differ in terms of monolithic crystal presence. AMD Company at the same conference will describe about the server processors with bulldozer architecture, which can have from 12 to 16 cores. Their announcement is also planned in 2011. | ||
