During September last year the Japanese company buffalo presented a series of solid-state disk with an USB 2.0 interface, but there are SSD characterized by USB 2.0 and IDE interfaces simultaneously. SSD with volume from 32 to 128 Gb are already proposed, but to the end of July to them will be added model with 256 Gb volume.
Buffalo SHD-NH256PU2 has a 256 Gb volume and ensures the transmission speed up to 101 Mbyte(s)/s. It can be connected both on PATA-133 and USB 2.0 interface. The buffer volume is equal to 64 mb., the energy consumption level does not exceed 8 W. With the overall dimensions 100 X 70 X 9,5 mm the disk has the mass of 90 gram.  Similar product can interest the owners of old notebook with IDE interface, which want to replace classical HDD by capacious solid-state disk. In this case for this pleasure user have to pay $1220.
