IDC Company published the results of processor market studies in the second quarter, which allowed it to speak about a confident increase in both realization volumes and gains. The first index, in particular, increased by 3,6%, whereas on average it usually composes 1,6%. Gain from the realization of processors grew by 6,2%, although usually it is reduced during this period by 2,8%.
We should recognize that users in the second quarter acquired more mobile (+6,5%) and server processors (+6,1%) in comparison with the first quarter, and the sales volumes of desktop processors were slightly reduced (- 0,1%).
Intel company in the second quarter controlled 80,7% (- 0,3%) of microprocessors market , AMD company was able to increase their portion by 0,2% to 19%, and VIA technologies controlled the remained 0,3%. Progress from AMD side became possible due to successful sales of mobile processors : in this segment AMD portion for the block increased from 12,1% to 13,7%, whereas Intel decreased its portion by 1,7% to 86,1%. In the server segment the positive dynamics was observed in Intel, which controlled 93,5% (+3,3%) of market, whereas in AMD portion was only 6,5% (- 3,3%). In the desktop segment, according to IDC data , AMD company reduced it market share now Intel control 72,2% (+0,5%) of market and also VIA increased its share to 0,5%, since AMD losses at this front composed 0,7%, its portion was reduced to 27,3%.
On 2010, as IDC forecasts , the sales volumes of processors can grow by 19,8%. A certain reduction in demand is now observed. Related Products :
