Llano processors production will be on 32 nm technology with the use of materials with high dielectric constant value and transistors with metallic lock (HKMG), it will appear on the market later. AMD representatives already reported about the presence of some problems with the mastery of 32 nm technology. Ontario and Zacate processors, will be released on 40 nm technology by TSMC, their commercial deliveries will begin already in the following block.
After some statements of barclays bank analysts, the representatives of technological alliance headed by IBM were forced to refuse information about existence of problems with the introduction of HKMG- technology to partners : Globalfoundries, Samsung, Infineon, NEC, STMicroelectronics and Toshiba.
In the opinion of barclays capital experts, IBM partners could experience problems with the production of microcircuits with the use of HKMG- technology. In all are distinguished two approaches to the formation of transistor lock: thermal treatment of silicic plate (gate-first) and after it (gate-last).
Globalfoundries Representatives doubted the objectivity of barclays bank estimations. The production of product on 32 nm technology in Fab 1 already took place, and preparation for the introduction of 28 nm technical process already go at full speed.
