Corsair company is intended to pass to the flash- memory MLC NAND, made on 25-nm technology. The first disk on the new memory will become F80A and F115 series force. Now in all SSD series force is used 34-nm memory.
According to internal data testing, made by corsair with the aid of synthetic test ATTO, the model on 25-nm memory is inferior to models on 32.nm memory by 3-4% on the productivity. This difference will be imperceptible in real operation
Besides the decrease of productivity, upon transfer to the flash- memory, prepared according to the thinner standards, the volume decreases . This is caused by the decrease of cycles number for rerecording and, as a result, by the need for redundancy of the larger number of cells for maintaining SSD service period at the acceptable level. Corsair will mark SSD on 25-nm memory by letter A in order to distinguish them from similar models on 32 - nm memory. Moreover, Corsair will indicate the real SSD volume . In particular, model on 25-nm memory will be called F115, since its volume is equal to 115 GB.
The deliveries of SSD F80A and F115 with volume 80 and 115 GB will begin to the end of month. The recommended prices of these SSD will be $169 and $215. For comparison: f80 and F120 SSD cost $199 and $249 respectively.
All SSD force have the standard size 2,5 inches. They use the controller sandForce SF-1200 and SATA 3 Gbit/s interface. Related Products :
