The preliminary characteristics published approximately one week ago of video card on the base of chips RV610 and RV630 were perceived by public with the large distrust. First, it was dictated by the Chinese site, which published data. Secondly, the optimists did not believe in the fact that RV610 will have 64- bit system bus and RV630 - 128- bit system bus. After the large memory memory system buses of Of g80 and R600 similar limitations seemed non logical.
The video chip RV610 and RV630 will have as minimum three modifications , and the official announcement of these graphical solutions is planned on April 2007. In sale the new cards will appear already during May.
Thus, associates confirmed that the cheapest version RV610 will have only 64- bit memory system bus . This modification in drivers will be as RV610 LE, given video card will be equipped with memory type GDDR-2. The printed-circuit board ( PCB ) RV610LE will have four-layer design, but the energy consumption level will not exceed 25 W.
The second modification video card on the base of RV610 will have the suffix pro, associates expressed hope that some video card on the base of RV610 will have 128- bit system bus. It was communicated only that video card of model RV610 pro will be equipped with memory of type GDDR- E with six-layer design printed-circuit board, but the level of the required power will not exceed 35 W.
As far as RV630 is concerned, this video chip will also present life to three modifications video card, which will be characterized by the type of the utilized memory:
- GDDR-2-> the level of required power 75 W;
- GDDR-3-> the level of required power 93 W;
- GDDR-4-> the level of required power 128 W.
Obviously, all three modifications will have different frequencies. The memory system bus in all three cases will be 128- bit.
Video chip RV610 and RV630 will be released on 65 NM technologies at the capacities of company TSMC, models will appear already during March. The announcement, as we already reported, will takes place during April of the present year.
