SATA-600 support provides data transmission speed of up to 6 Gb / s, the most relevant for solid state drives, as they have the greatest speed, classic hard drives can not fully exploit the potential of SATA-600. Â Renesas Electronics company, Â announced a new chip µPD720230, which plays the role of bridge between SATA-600 and USB 3.0. Â This is the world's first solution to support the protocol UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol). Â The accompanying UASP driver not only supports chip Renesas µPD720230, µPD720200, µPD720200A, µPD720201 and µPD720202, but also chipsets and AMD A70M A75. Â Future driver releases will provide support for other chipsets AMD with built-in USB 3.0. Â Renesas plans to sell a license to any driver UASP producers who are developing their own bridges USB 3.0 -> SATA-600.  According to the manufacturer, the new bridge provides a data rate of up to 370 MB / s when connected to the interface SSD SATA-600 port USB 3.0. Â ?PD720230 chip is available in a QFN package type with 48 contacts, measures 6 x 6 mm and is equipped with its own voltage regulator module.
