In the hands of the enthusiasts was the not announced officially processor cooler thermalright ultra 120 Plus. The basic difference in the new design and the old ultra 120 is in the presence of six thermal tubes instead of four:  Furthermore, thermalright Ultra 120 Plus has properly universal complete set for fixing the cooler - new cooler support processors intel LGA775 and AMD socket 754/939/940/AM2. As it is clear from the name, producer recommends the using of this device in combination with 120- mm fan. As the results of testing showed, two additional thermal tubes actually improve the effectiveness of cooler . In the comparison with the previous model, the temperature of processor in the state idle time in the test configuration was lower by 1 c with the default CPU frequency and to 6c with overclock. Furthermore, the use Of thermalright ultra 120 Plus allowed the tested processor intel core 2 Duo x6800 to overclock to 3940 MHz, whereas with Ultra 120 maximum result was only 3900 MHz.
