MSI and Gigabyte prepare LGA 2011 motherboards. The first motherboard - MSI X79A-GD65 8D.  8D means eight slots DIMM, for the first time the company used the suffix in the name of  P45-8D motherboard Memory Lover, which had 4 memory slots for DDR3 and DDR2.  The modern solution is based on Intel X79 chipset . The voltage regulator module is configured as 5 + 2 phase,  a component base use POSCAP capacitors and solid state chokes.  DIMM slots are divided in two groups on both sides of the socket. Expansion slots are represented by five slots PCI Express x16, four correspond to the specifications of third generation standard.  If the user connects two video adapter slots it will operate in the 16 + 16 lines, the simultaneous use of four possible slots results in 8 + 8 + 8 + 8 lines.  On the fifth slot is allocated only 4 lines PCI Express 2.0. The rest is pretty standard equipment for modern motherboards .  There is ten-audio chanel with optical and coaxial SPDIF, LAN, FireWire, four USB 3.0, USB 2.0 kit and even a PS / 2.   Gigabyte motherboard model is based on  Intel X79 chips. Unfortunately, Gigabyte shows promotional photos, which captures only a part of the motherboard.   Gigabyte chipset cooler is now made in the form of a pistol.  The motherboard has four SATA connectors 6 Gb / s and four SATA 3Gb / s.
