The release of Windows 8, which will support processors with ARM-architecture is scheduled for next year.  Now, Microsoft feel a declining interest in traditional computers running Windows 7 on the background of the growing popularity of tablets.   Experts believes that talking about the serious presence of x86-compatible processors and Windows 8 in the segment of tablet devices will be no earlier than 2013.  This year, the tablets market based on ARM-processors will grow by 211% to 59.9 million units.  In 2017, the amount of tablets sold could reach 330 million units. Well-developed infrastructure and applications and services enable tablets based on ARM-processors to maintain a dominant position in the segment for many years.  According to analysts In-Stat, tablets buyers increasingly oriented to the functionality of device and compatible applications, not the brand manufacturer. By 2017, Windows 8 will win no more than 10% of the operating system for tablets.  Android will hold about a third of the market, the rest will get iOS.  According to forecasts of DisplaySearch, in 2017 the share of tablet-enabled mobile networks will increase from 10% to 25%.   Related Products :
