Today was reported about the new world record in the region of overclock for processors. The moderator of forum overclocking & cooling Guy ziskind was able to overclock the processor Intel core 2 Extreme q6700 (QX6700) to impressive 4241 MHz (default frequency of this CPU is 2,66 GHz) with air cooling.
As the platform was used the motherboard ASUS R.O.G commando, and cooling processor was ensured by cooler thermalTake bigTyphoon and two additional 120- mm fan. For achievement of this result the voltage of supply CPU was set 1,735 v; however, the temperature of processor with the complete load did not exceed 75 c.
At frequency 4241 MHz it was possible to load Windows XP; however, system was unstable and user was not able to validate the result .

More stable stage of QX6700 was about 4171 MHz - it was possible to execute CPU- Z and to register the already official world record of this processor with air :
But after lowering frequency to 4101 MHz, the author was able to execute superPi:
