Foxconn showed the motherboard Quantumian 1 aimed at enthusiasts and gamers. Foxconn engineers seriously limied the motherboard from the 14 connectors for drives survived only eight (four SATA 3 Gb / s and the same number of ports SATA 6 Gb / s). In the 14-phase power system there was a small radiator, and logic chip. Interestingly, in comparison with the cooling system of Foxconn and other manufacturers, the first clearly distinguishable excessive minimalism, which raises some doubt about the level of X79 chipset heat generation .
Foxconn Quantumian has a total of four DIMM DDR3 slots for memory with an operating frequency up to 2400 MHz, four slots PCI Express x16, one PCI Express x1 and PCI. The rear panel has two slots Gigabit Ethernet, two USB 3.0, two eSATA, set of audio jacks and USB 2.0 ports. There is a power button, reset, clear settings CMOS, OC button and LED debug BIOS, as well as extra BIOS chip.
Today appeared also the picture of motherboard Biostar TPower X79. This solution has four slots for RAM, three slots PCI Express x16, two PCI Express x1 and one PCI. There is six SATA connectors 6 Gb / s and only one port SATA 3 Gb / sec. For other peripherals, there are six ports USB 3.0 , AC LAN, audio outputs for connecting a 7.1-channel speaker system, eSATA, and a pair of USB 2.0.
The motherboard have the standard trio of buttons (on, reset, CMOS clearing) and LED with POST-codes.
