Nokia has plans to connect their Windows Phone mobile devices with a hardware platform ST-Ericsson-based chipsets NovaThor. The two companies signed an agreement on an exclusive partnership, however, is still unknown exactly what Nokia smart phones will be based on this platform.
At present ST-Ericsson NovaThor chips is limited to three models - U9500, U8500 and U5500. The first two support functions to format and Full HD 1080p picture, with up to 20 megapixels. Also, the chipset U9500 provides a touch screen with 1280 x 768 pixels resolution, 3D-graphics, in addition, it support mobile TV standards and WLAN, Bluetooth, FM, GPS, HDMI. The chipset uses a 45nm 1.2 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9, LP-DDR2 interface and graphics ARM Mali 400 with the support of expansion teams Neon CPU.
