Today appeared pictures from Intel presentation , which illustrate the company's plans for the development of platforms.
Contents of the first illustrations show the plans for 2012 and 2013. Intel company plans to launch a platform under the symbols Chief River / Maho Bay (2012) and Shark Bay (2013).
The composition of Chief River / Maho Bay will include processors Ivy Bridge QC, DC, LV and ULV with integrated graphics cores. A couple of Ivy Bridge QC and DC make up the seventh series chipsets for processors with low power consumption will be released under special versions of these chips. The platform includes components that support Wi-Fi, WiMAX, Bluetooth and Gigabit Ethernet.
The base of Shark Bay will be the CPU Haswell QC, DC and ULT with integrated graphics, supplemented by a system hub (PCH) Lynx Point. For models with low-power package will be used several crystals in one case.
According to the manufacturer, the new Shark Bay platform will be different from its predecessor and will propose increased battery life. There will be also improved performance in multimedia operations, including transcoding high-definition video in real time.
Intel also talks about overclock improvement - they will cover not only the CPU, but also the PCH.
