Bloomberg published an interesting statistic, calling the names of companies who were distinguished in 2011, by the number of registered patents. In the first place we have IBM, it recorded more than six thousand inventions in various fields of science and technology. On the second place Korean giant Samsung, followed in descending order followed by Canon, Panasonic, Microsoft, Toshiba and Sony.
Over its hundred years of history (the company was founded June 15, 1911) IBM has acquired many patents, which had a significant impact on modern life.
IBM employ a department of 250 professionals involved in the funding of research projects and support for scientists. Each year, IBM is investing in science about six billion , providing approximately eight thousand inventors. Such investments are the key to owning the latest technology in the industry, and certainly justified: the price of IBM stock grow from year to year.
