Anti Monopoly regulators in the U.S. and EU allowed the acquisition by Google of Motorola Mobility Holdings for 12.5 billion dollars. Google acquired an impressive package of intellectual property, which includes more than 17,000 patents and 7,500 patent applications. In this regard, Antimonopoly organisation promised to closely monitor to ensure that the new owner of patents licensed key patents relating to telecommunications standards on fair, reasonable and nondiscriminatory terms.
The deal was the largest in the history of Google. While some investors fear that the move could reduce Google profitability , we know that Google plans to keep Motorola as an independent division , so that its economic performance should not directly affect Google rates .
The deal must be approved by relevant authorities of China, Taiwan and Israel.
