Sapphire company prepare the announcement of a wide range of video card series Radeon HD 79xx, with unusual design and features. In particular, Sapphire promised to release a Radeon HD 7970 version with six gigabytes of memory. This card appeared in Cebit 2012
The card series TOXIC, GDDR5 memory chips are located on both sides of the PCB. The back surface of the card is covered with a metal plate radiator. The cooling system has two large fans.
The memory chips are equipped with thermal pads: blue on the front side and white board - from the back.
This card has two BIOS chips, one of them with frequency 1100/6000 MHz , the other - 1150/6000 MHz. The standard version Radeon HD 7970 operates at 925/5500 MHz frequencies, so Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 TOXIC not only doubled the memory amount, but also well factory overclocked initially.
Sapphire offers the Radeon HD 7970 OC and Radeon HD 7950 OC, the first have two BIOS chips, and two sets of frequencies (950/5700 MHz and 1000/5800 MHz), and the second is satisfied by factory overclocked to 900/5000 MHz. The volume of GDDR5 memory, in both cases is 3 GB.
