It seems as there's not enough in the GPU industry and things are getting hotter every minute...Not long ago nVIDIA released their G80 (NV50) GPU and now we have some new info to share with the readers..
NVIDIA G90 (NV55) DATA:
A source has informed us that G90 will be released as soon as Q1 2008 on a 65/55nm process....G90 will NOT be a new architecture, but only a die shrink of current G80 architecture.G90 will be based on the same G80 (NV50) architecture. the nVIDIA G90 will consist of several smaller chips instead of one large chip just like desktop multi core CPUs.The reason why nVIDIA went with many smaller chips instead of a one large chip was due to heat issues.. ..G90 will have a 512-bit Memory bus and will interface GDDR4 memory chips clocked between 2.40 to 2.80 GHz (effective).G90 will consist an Audio device on the PCB along with the GPU layout..for reasons we cannot publish how many steam processors the G90 will have because it's on a prototype stage and specs may change until release date , but sources say G90 will have more than double the Stream Processors found on the G80..G90 will have more than 1 Billion transistors..and will have much more than 1 Teraflops of processing power for a single GPU Card.
NVIDIA G100 (NV60) DATA:
Unlike G90 that is based on the same architecture as the G80 aka NV50,the nVIDIA G100 (NV60) will be a totally new architecture and support Shader Model 5.0.The nVIDIA G100 will be based on TSMC 45nm process and will amount to more than 1.5 billion transistors .The nVIDIA G100 will support the nVIDIA CUDA 2 technology and will have much more computational power than the NV50(aka G80/G90) architecture..Marketing name for the G100 is said to be "GeForce X1800 GTX"...G100 will have almost 2 Teraflops of shader processing power.. The nVIDIA G100 is to be released in Q4 2008 or Q1 2009 timeframes.. Related Products :
