ASUS from mid-2012 plans to reduce the number of ordered motherboards from Pegatron, and completely end the relationship with ODM-manufacturer to the end of the third quarter.
After the termination of cooperation with Pegatron, ASUS will give orders to Taiwanese companies Cal-Comp Electronics, Global Brands Manufacture, Info-Tek, and Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS). Assocaite noted that ECS is currently engaged in production of graphics cards for ASUS. By the Production of laptops will be charged Foxconn Electronics, Quanta Computer and Compal Electronics.
Pegatron was formed in 2008 during the restructuring of ASUS, but in 2010 the leadership of the parent company decided to cut investment in the subsidiary. Subsequently, Pegatron was completely separated from ASUS, and the latter is forced to seek new producers to meet ODM-contracts.
