China government come to the conclusion that creating their own processors will create a technological independence in varying degrees.  So far, all efforts in this direction focused on the development of processors with MIPS-architecture, Chinese expected to create on their base their supercomputers. Chinese authorities have launched a special program to search for a national processor architecture.  It is assumed that the processors of local production will necessarily be used in any initiatives that claim to public funding. As long as alternatives are considered five processor architectures.  The Chinese are like to build on the existing solution and refine it, and create their own architecture.  However, the latter option is less likely because of the huge demand for engineering and material resources, not to mention the time.  The Chinese also want to use common software, because some unique architecture to achieve this goal is not suitable.   MIPS Technologies representatives have expressed confidence in the victory over the competition in this matter .  The license for the use of ARM architecture Cortex-A9 is worth $ 5 million, and the Chinese are not ready for such expenses.  Perhaps there are prospects for PowerPC architecture.  China has developed a tablet-based on processor with this architecture, running the operating system Linux.
