The chipsets series Lynx Point will be released with Intel processors LGA 1150 Haswell generation in spring next year. The chipset will be released on 32 nm technology. In addition, the number of USB 3.0 and SATA-600, supported by the chipset, should grow up to six units in each case.
To the Lynx Point chipset will be assigned the eighth series: chipset Z87, H87 and Z85 will be available for the consumer sector, chipsets Q87, Q85, and B85 - for corporate. Finally, to Xeon processors LGA 1150 chipset will be offered as C228.
Z85 will lose RAID support. This loss will have a favorable impact on the cost of the chipset. Chipsets eighth series will give the user more control over the work of Rapid Storage technology, allowing to choose between saving energy, speed and balanced settings. Fast Boot feature will reduce the time to initialize the boot drive at startup, but it will only work with drives made by Intel.
