ARM Holding took another step toward the server market. Like many other companies, ARM should hold conference with financial analysts, during which discusses not only the welfare of the enterprise, but also the strategy . During a regular meeting, which was devoted to summing up the quarterly results , the processors developer repored about server-side direction.
ARM has signed two licensing agreements with major companies in which intellectual property of holding company can be used in server hardware. We are talking about architecture ARMv8 (Atlas), which supports 64-bit instruction sets, and 32-bit ARMv7 (Cortex-A15), which will appear in servers in 2013.
It should be noted that issued license does not limit the circle of producers who have access to the development of holding. For example, ARM development in the server market would support Applied Micro, Calxeda, Marvell, NVIDIA and Samsung companies. Each of these companies already have experience in the appropriate direction.
