Many of our permanent readers already know about AMD plans on the announcement of certain technology, reverse on its action to hyper-Threading. This technology had to unite the computational resources of two processor cores for treating one data flow. During these days we reported about Intel plans on the introduction of technology EDAT in mobile processors generation penryn . Associate reported that this technology will already supported in the released during May processors merom with 800 MHz system bus. Today we can add that the support of this technology will be only in Intel mobile processors , and the increase in frequency (with automatic overclock ) will be limited to one step multiplier. For example, if dual core processor with default rating operates at frequency 2.4 GHz, then after the single core acceleration the core frequency will increase to 2.66 GHz. However. The most surprising, that AMD company intends to make a symmetrical answer to EDAT technology . the technical director of European AMD representation  Mr. Giuseppe  (Giuseppe amato) communicated that AMD is assembled to allow motherboard producers on their desire to include automatic overclock function in BIOS ( one core from the two  AM2+ ).It Is assumed that the remaining cores in overclocked condition will work at the reduced frequencies. Simultaneously AMD representative explained, that there is some inconveniences to motherboard socket AM2, if they are used with processors socket AM2+. Since the old motherboards do not know how to flexibly control frequencies and voltage of each core in socket AM2+ processor, for platforms succession user had to pay with the higher energy consumption. For example, if processor AM2+ was installed on motherboard with similar socket, then the energy consumption level would be lower by 10%. Related Products :
