The device is based on single-chip system Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960, which include two processing cores with a frequency 1.5 GHz. This chip is made on 28 nm technological standards and can not be supplied by the contractor Qualcomm in the right quantity. The deficit forced HTC to look for alternative component solutions, making a special version One S, which is based on the CPU Snapdragon S3 MSM8260, which also has two cores, but with increased up to 1.7 GHz frequency.
