According to AMD head Rory Reid , after five years the proportion of tablets running Windows could rise from the current 2-3% to 20%. At the same time AMD itself did not consider it necessary to produce chips for smartphones, as this segment is considered overcrowded and low-profit. But AMD is interested in opportunities for cloud computing  , and there are possible new acquisitions. To deal with ultrabook AMD is going with a more affordable ultra mobile computers based on a hybrid processor Trinity.
