New Zealand company ZaReason, producing notebooks, desktops and servers running Linux, started selling its new 14.1-inch ultrabook model UltraLap 430. The device was the first ultrabook running under the operating system Linux (will be available in the following versions: Ubuntu 12.04, Debian, Fedora or Linux Mint).
Base version ZaReason UltraLap 430 runs on the platform Ivy B ridge with Intel Core i3, Intel HD graphics offers 4000, 4 GB DDR 3 memory standard (up to 16 GB), SSD-drive capacity of 32 GB and a card reader 3-in- 1. Also new HDMI output, Gigabit LAN, 802.11 B / G / N Wi-Fi and Bluetooth adapters, two USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0, 1.3-megapixel HD webcam and built-in 6-cell battery.
