After the failures of TouchPad tablet computer operating system WebOS, HP has made this OS an open software platform and entrusted its development to GRAM. Open WebOS, which currently exists in beta, will be supported by the phone maker ZTE.
ZTE plans to introduce a smartphone Open WebOS in the fourth quarter this year. It is noteworthy that the Chinese company will be the first who decided to use an operating system open source. ZTE also plans to release devices listed under Mozilla Firefox OS.
ZTE can be followed by others. To migrate to the new platform manufacturers are pushing strong against a modified version of Google Android policy . Assertion is confirmed by the recent ban of smartphone Acer A800 CloudMobile running OC Aliyun, which supposedly goes against the principles of Open Handset Alliance.
