Intel is going to pay more attention to the promotion of Atom processor in the server segment. In the fourth quarter this year will be presented the platform Bordenville, which will combine CPU cores with Saltwell, codenamed Centerton.
Initially will be presented three processors Centerton:
- Atom S1220 (dual-core, 1.6 GHz, 1 MB cache L2, TDP 8.1 W);
- Atom S1240 (dual-core, 1.6 GHz, 1 MB cache L2, TDP 6.1 W);
- Atom S1260 (dual-core, 2.0 GHz, 1 MB cache L2, TDP 8.5 W).
Each of the models will be characterized by a single-channel memory controller, DDR3-1333 (up to two modules with the total volume up to 8 GB), 8 lines PCI Express 2.0, support for Hyper-Threading Technology and VT-x.
Processors Centerton, apply to the server's Quanta Stratos S900-X31A. Each module contains two CPU with its own memory, controllers, SATA, USB and Ethernet, as well as other chips. Related Products :
