In the event IEDM 2012 in December, TSMC company will talk about affordable way to produce volatile memory ReRAM, based on memristor. It was assumed that traditional flash memory will replace chips based on memristors in summer next year.  However, Stan Williams , HP Senior Fellow and Director of the Laboratory of Cognitive Systems, said that technically viable solution based on memristors will be ready for commercial use, at best, only by the end of next year.  In addition, the release dates of ReRAM memory will affect consumer demand. However, any manufacturer can release its version of memristor .  This is possible due to a controversial definitions used in patent law: memristors are two-terminal resistive memory, but many companies are working on their own two-terminal memory, which is often a combination of metal-oxide.
