The first Intel p35 tests allowed us to understand that DDR- 3 memory present some advantage, but this last has serious deficiencies like the high price and limited accessibility. Those Motherboard (on new p35 chipset) ensure the official support of 1333 MHz system bus and even future 45 nm processors. Overclocking potential  already encourage. Motherboard with DDR- 3 support are already available ( Hybrid motherboards with two slots DIMM for each memory type ) . Many for sure prefer to have the capability to install four modules DDR-2, and in future to replace this memory with DDR- 3 modules .  Gigabyte company  , which has already a wide experience in the creation of motherboard with simultaneous DDR/DDR-2 support , released new product with DDR-2 and DDR- 3 support  with motherboard  gigabyte GA -P35C-DS3r , This last have four slots memory DDR 2-1066 and two slots for DDR 3-1333 memory . Let us note that DDR 2-1066 regime is supported by overclock. The total memory volume can reach 8 Gb. For DDR- 3 there is only two slots DIMM with green color; therefore with 2 Gb module it is possible to collect only 4 Gb memory . The need of positioning two additional DIMM slots forced Gigabyte to enlarge the motherboard by 35 mm in comparison with gigabyte GA -P35-DS3r, witch have only four slots for DDR-2 memory  . Both motherboard relate to the series ultra durable 2.  GA -P35C-DS3r is already available in retail for $170,  GA -P35-DS3r model will be proposed for  $150-160. Thus, the possibility to install a pair of DDR3 modules cost $10 - $20.
