Technology standardization committee is engaged in computer memory JEDEC, the association formed by EIA, representing all sectors of the electronics industry. At the same time, there is an outside organization - Open NAND Flash Interface Working Group (ONFI) - which focuses on the development of open standards for low-level interfaces for memory chips NAND.
Together organizations have developed JESD230 standard, defining one form of case for NAND chips and the interface between them. The solution is backward compatible with existing technologies that will facilitate the creation of future storage devices based on asynchronous memory SDR, DDR or synchronous flash Toggle-DDR NAND.
The developers believe that the standard JESD230 improve the interface between the chip manufacturer and NAND will expand the scope of flash memory.
