According to analysis, IC Insights, Qualcomm semiconductor developer jump from 7th place to 4th in the overall ranking.    Exactly the same pace in the development demonstrated GlobalFoundries.  Revenue received by both of them for the year grew by 30%.  This is the best result for all twenty players in semiconductor market. It should be clarified that Qualcomm is among the ten best companies in the semiconductor sector in 2008, while GlobalFoundries has appeared in the list of top 20 only in the first quarter 2012.  Interestingly, its success of US-Arab contract manufacturer must work for companies such as Qualcomm, STMicroelectronics and Freescale Semiconductor.  The last two, as we have seen, went to the so-called lightweight factory model,  they can not produce the most advanced solutions.   The absence of factory for Qualcomm, as NVIDIA company  and other companies, does not prevent them to increase profits.  On the other hand, the total amount of earning proceeds of the three leaders of contract manufacturing - companies TSMC, GlobalFoundries and UMC - was 16% for the year, while the whole semiconductor industry for the year reduced the overall revenues by 1%.   Related Products :
