The theme about the possibility to use 45 nm processors intel (generation penryn) in the existing mainboards (on base of chipset intel p965) was not clear. Mainboard producers noted that some motherboard can require a power system update , and only mainbaord (on base of chipsets bearlake (Intel p35 and other) ) can guarantee compatibility with 45 nm intel processors .
But here NVIDIA chipsets are more optimistic. At least, NVIDIA is not troubled to state that all products series nForce 600i are developed with 1333 MHz system bus and also penryn processors support :  For us remain only to test all mainboards on base of these chipsets with penryn processors without any hardware modifications. There are no official proofs of this compatibility, but some already assert (on forum xtremeSystems.org) that 45 nm models processors generation penryn are actually capable to work in the existing motherboards nForce 680i. .....
