The memory system speed is directly affected by the command rate setting , which in contemporary systems can take the value 2T or 1T. Problem consists in the fact that fast 1T badly work with high memory frequencies , and user are forced to select between the low latencies or high frequency.
Asus company reported this week about the release of BIOS update for motherboard P5K3 deluxe (DDR- 3) and P5K deluxe (DDR-2), which ensures support to command rate 1T. Producer asserts that with 1T memory value and latency CL9 , the system is faster than latency CL8. In future analogous bios update will be released for motherboard P5K, P5K- E, P5KSE, P5K- V and P5K-VM. They are all based on chipset intel p35 .
Our Preliminary tests showed that in real applications increase from passage to Command rate 1T does not exceed 1,5%. Furthermore, the motherboard asus P5K deluxe support parameter 1T only with FSB:DDR divider , equal to 333:400. This corresponds to processor operation regime : 1333 MHz system bus and memory DDR 2-800. Finally, any motherboard on base of chipset intel p35 can find this function after BIOS update .
