ARM and Microsoft Companies, as is widely known, are planning to introduce personal computers and laptops running Windows 10 by the end of the year. Platforms on processors with ARM cores will emulate x86 ISA commands and work with conventional x86-compatible applications under Windows. This will make life easier for programmers and will allow to advance processors on ARM in the world of usual PCs. It is assumed that this step will reduce the cost of entry-level personal computers. One problem,
as it turned out, ARM and Microsoft forgot to ask Intel about the license for using the x86 ISA command sets.
Yesterday , Intel congratulated itself and the public on the 40th anniversary of the release of IBM's first personal computer on processors 8086. This event occurred on June 8, 1978. Since then, a lot of water has flowed under the bridge, and the team sets have expanded significantly. As Intel claims, today team sets are protected by 1600 patents.
Intel does not name the companies ARM and Microsoft, but warn that they are always ready to meet in court with the fact that they will grossly violate their intellectual property. Related Products :
