On 22 July , in the present year, intel have some change for processors core 2 Duo : ALL CPU will support 1333 MHz system bus. These processors series core 2 Duo e6x50 will get attractive prices , 4 mb cache in the second level and will belong to the new stepping (E0 and G0) witch is attractive for overclock amateurs .
The 1333 MHz system bus will not allow to enlarge the multiplier range of processors core 2 Duo. We already studied the overclock results of processor core 2 Duo e6550 (2.33 GHz) with G0 stepping . As result we got the frequency 3.85 GHz .
In order to make some overclock statistics for low-end processors stepping G0, we checked coolaler site , where we find another experiments with core 2 Duo e6550 (2.33 GHz) stepping G0.
Using the mainboard asus P5B deluxe (Intel p965) with air cooler tuniq tower 120 and core voltage 1.288 v , the processor was overclocked to 3500 MHz, which corresponds to the system bus frequency 500 MHz. This is already good result for such low voltage.
At this frequency the processor passed all tests . under load the processor temperature did not exceed 52 degree Celsius, according to the indications of utility asus Ai suite.
In a word, the overclock of processors core 2 Duo with passage on G0 stepping continue to show good result , no one can guarantee a phenomenal frequency increase in all cases . However, the energy consumption level will be lowered, since G0 stepping will ensure a decrease in TDP level for four core processors kentsfield. Related Products :
