The official technical characteristics of celeron 4xx and Pentium e2xxx processors appeared yesterday on intel site . We propose to study them to make a complete idea about these processors.
We start from dual core processors Pentium e2xxx, based on stepping L2 core allendale. We should note that in state extended HALT , the energy consumption level is reduced by 8 W as in processors stepping M0. Both processors support the expansion intel 64, function C1 E, EDB (NX- bit), EIST and Thermal monitor 2. They are also equipped with thermal diode and support the function fans speed control .
We already examined in previous news the stepping of those processors:
- Pentium e2160 (1.8 GHz) - > SLA3H;
- Pentium e2140 (1.6 GHz) - > SLA3J.
The electrical and thermal characteristics in this series are : supply voltages range (Core) 1.162-1.312 v, maximum case temperature is equal to 61.4 degree Celsius, TDP level does not exceed 65 W. Intel note the multiplier range from 6x to 12x; however, in reality Pentium e2xxx processors can not reach the default frequencies 2.4 GHz. In any case, in the present year there is not plan to release such processor.
The processors Pentium e2160 and Pentium e2140 support 800 MHz system bus with 1mb divided cache in the second level.
Here is the Markings of celeron 4xx processors , made on core Conroe- L stepping A1 :
- Celeron 440 (2.0 GHz) - > SL9XL;
- Celeron 430 (1.8 GHz) - > SL9XN;
- Celeron 420 (1.6 GHz) - > SL9XP.
All those processors support 800 MHz system bus, they are equipped with 512 KB cache in the second level, the core quantity is equal to one. New celeron support the technologies intel 64, C1 E, EDB and Thermal monitor 2. Series processors will support enhanced HALT state , function fans speed control and they will be equipped with thermal-diode.
The supply voltages range in Celeron 4xx differ slightly : from 1.050 to 1.300 v. the maximum case temperature is equal to 60.4 degree Celsius. TDP Level is equal to 35 W. The multiplier range is marked from 6x to 14x; however, there is no guarantee, that this processors will get the default frequency 2.8 GHz.
