According to declared BY AMD data, the prepared for announcement phenom processors , is faster by 15-40% than core 2 Duo. Its more correct to compare the performance between Penryn and Phenom, as considers Mr. Danforrd.  AMD asserts that Phenom obtained a completely new architecture, the operations with floating point are practically the same as in previous generation processors. Penryn, obtained new associative cache, 6 mb L2 for dual core , 12 mb in 4- core models and block radix-16 divider, which processes 4 bits data in 1 cycle. SSE performance is also improved due to the Super shuffle engine, witch allow to process several 128- bits SSE instructions in cycle. In Penryn will also appear the new collection SSE4.
