Hitachi company was already the first supplier (in world) of hard disk with 1000 Gb volume , after beginning sales of model deskstar 7K1000 at the end of April. Seagate company promised to release hard disk with analogous capacity, which consists on four magnetic disk against five in hitachi HDD . This advantage will allow Seagate to lower the energy consumption level and to bring higher operation speed . Yesterday seagate company in press release reported about the beginning of delivery for 3.5 inch hard disk series barracuda 7200.10 with 250 Gb plate, which uses technology perpendicular record second generation. Specifically, such plates will be used in future hard disk seagate with 1000 Gb volume  . For the present , new hard disk consist on one plate with 250 Gb volume. The rotation frequency is 7200 rp/min, the buffer volume is equal to 8 mb. (ST3250310AS) or 16 mb. (ST3250410AS) depending on model. Those disk provide support to the interface SATA-300. In comparison with predecessors ( volume 250  Gb ), which consist on two plates, new hard disks have lower energy consumption (by 25%), the noise level  in search mode was also reduced. According to some data, terabyte hard disk from Seagate will be released in autumn this year. Related Products :
