Kinc already updated the 3DMark'05 record with single video card: using the overclocked to frequencies 1144/2000 MHz , graphic card radeon HD 2900 XT with processor core 2 Extreme x6800 working at 5.2 GHz frequency , it was possible to obtain 30 092 points. Experiments with crossFire regime was planed for later period , here : elmor ( xtremeSystems.org member ) worked on crossfire record ....
Strategy was similar: First elmor reached the maximum overclock using two video card radeon HD 2900 XT with air cooling, central processor was cooled with liquid nitrogen. The mainboard abit AW9D- MAX was subjected to serious modifications in order to increase voltage , we note also that the PCI express system bus frequency worked at 169 MHz.
The freshest record is fixed in futuremark data base . Processor was overclocked to the frequency 5305 MHz, video card radeon HD 2900 XT worked in crossFire regime at frequencies 950/1960 MHz, as a result it was possible to collect 33778 points in 3DMark'05 .
Focus attention, deference with previous result using single video card is small - it is higher by 10% only. Difference here , that the single video card was overclocked with Freon, and new today record were obtained with regular air cooler for video card radeon HD 2900 XT. It completely natural that better cooling will ensure a lot higher result....
