We already introduced the processors athlon X2 Be -2xxx. We can not say that those processor are characterized by phenomenal overclocking potential, but their energy efficiency was about right . These are the first processors on 65 nm core brisbane, which possess TDP level is not more than 45 W.
Only two models are announced: Athlon X2 BE -2300 (1.9 GHz) and Athlon X2 BE -2350 (2.1 GHz). It is also known that during August , AMD will present the processor Athlon X2 BE -2400 (2.3 GHz). It is obvious that this processor also will succeed in preserving TDP at the level not higher than 45 W. ....
Thus, the processor athlon X2 BE -2400 operates at the frequency 2.3 GHz and it is equipped with 2 X 512 KB cache in the second level.
After studying the contents of table above, it is possible to reveal that the processor athlon X2 BE -2400 has many transitional energy states: 2.3 GHz, 2.2 GHz, 2.0 GHz, 1.8 GHz and 1.0 GHz. It is interesting that at frequency 2.2 GHz this processor has almost the same value TDP as processor athlon X2 BE -2350 at the frequency 2.0 GHz. Directly at frequency 2.0 GHz the processor athlon X2 BE -2400 consumes less than its analog . Analogous situation was observed also at 1.8 GHz. In the minimum energy state, at the frequency 1.0 GHz, this processor has level TDP not more than 25.8 W, whereas other two models have higher values TDP (29.5 W and 27.7 W).
We note that the vcore voltage for the model athlon X2 BE -2400 are the same as in other processors series. As a whole, for this processors series we observe the following tendency: the younger the processor, the more the energy it consumes in each states. However, elder model with the equal frequency remain the most economical.
Japanese stores already propose the processor athlon X2 BE -2400 (2.3 GHz) ( box ) for $140. We hope that up to the official announcement moment this value will be lowered at least to $100-120. Related Products :
