On 22 July , intel company will present the dual core processor core 2 Duo e4500 (2.2 GHz), which will cost $133, and will lower the price of other processors. This processor will be based on new stepping M0, which has the mobile origin. The engineering model core 2 Duo e4500 (2.2 GHz) was able to overclock to only 3.33 GHz. Today appeared the description of experiment : overclock of new engineering model core 2 Duo e4500 (2.2 GHz) stepping M0. In this case where used the mainboard Asus P5B deluxe (Intel p965) and cooler tuniq tower 120. The frequency 3.3 GHz was possible with default Vcore 1.352 v. To reach the frequency 3.6 GHz ,  it was necessary to increase the vcore voltage to 1.56 v. At 3.7 GHz ,  the processor worked with vcore 1.616 v and passed the test super PI 1M. It was possible to take a screen shot at the maximum frequency ( 4.0 GHz ) with Vcore voltage 1.77 v. The author of experiment asserts that further overclock is limited to the cooling possibilities. So , the processor core 2 Duo with def ult frequency 2.2 GHz and 2 mb cache was able to overclock up to 4.0 GHz - frequency increase is equal to 82%. 	My vcore on this processor show 1.2v on ECS 945GZT-M ? The retail box states max 1.35v I have the same MO stepping. Was there a change somewhere or is my board reading incorrectly ?

Yes it is normal . when your system idle the processor slow down to save power and get back to the normal state when required . in your case the default speed in 200x11 = 2200 mhz and idle speed is 200x6 = 1200 mhz. to disable this thermal saving technologie you have to disable the (speed step) bios option. Generally most motherboard (i965 +) know how to manipulate the voltage in order to make the system stable for the current frequency in the auto mode . But i always prefer to set the voltage manually.

	theorically u can overclock to the max of your cpu . This motherboard is able to do 400 fsb +. Your processor multiplier is 11x .with an ultra good chip u can make 4 GHZ, but since your cpu is based on M0 stepping so most likely u will overclok in the range 3ghz-3.4ghz,

	I bought a scythe katana 2 to use for OC. Is this good enough or should I return and get Tuniq tower 120? Also should I save $40 and go with the e2160 instead?

	Tuniq tower 120 is monster cooling for 3.6 Ghz +. scythe katana 2 is about ok for moderate overclock with some vcore . Also should I save $40 and go with the e2160 instead? You can , both should overclock about the same .The hole tick is to find the best overclocker chip .

	well i have tried to juice my e4500 on 630i chipset at stock cooling and reached a barrier of 327.4 bus speed at 9x .. can i straight away change my multi to 11x .. if yes how much voltage ill have to chnage .. at present its 1.38v

I have the ASUS MAXIMUS EXTREME and I can not get this processor to overclock. (INTEL : Processor Core 2 Duo - E4500 - 2.2 GHz - Socket775 - L2 cache - 2 MB) What am I not doing? This is a killer motherboard. I am using the ASUS NARDO Processor fan and the case has a 12cm fan installed. I have even tried the CPU Z program and the only thing that would over clock the ASUS 256 MB Video card. I have tried to gradually increase the overclock and it hangs every time. Kingston Value ram DDR3 without memory coolers. What stepping should I use with this memory. I have been using default. I have not tinkered with this DDR3 since it just came out. I have never had this trouble in 6 years. There is so much that can be changed in the BIOS that it has me confused. That is why I was using the CPU Z. 	This is due to Intel speed step , disable it and you cpu will be at constant speed.
