According to estimates of analytical agency TrendForce, in the first quarter 2013 was sold 216.4 million smartphones , up 9.4% compared with the previous reporting period. The experts noted that the smartphone market shows a positive trend on a quarterly basis, in spite of the influence of traditional seasonal factors.
Samsung become a market leader , in the first three months this year it realized 65 million smartphones, representing approximately 30% of the total. Second place belongs to Apple - 17.3% and 37.5 million smartphones sold. The share of Apple company has decreased by 1.2% due to strong competition from new products of companies like Samsung, HTC and Sony. The third largest producer is HTC company (4.4%), followed by Nokia (4.3%), Huawei (4%), Lenovo (3.9%), Sony (3.8%), ZTE (3.7%) and LG (3.6%).
In the second quarter, shipments of smart phones will continue to grow,but manufacturers may face a shortage of components, such as eMCP memory .
