Along with the rating Top500, which lists the best-performance supercomputers in the planet regularly update the list of Green500, including only those complexes that have high energy efficiency. Last week was published a new edition of the list Green500.
As before, in terms of the ratio , computing power consumed energy , are leading hybrid systems that combine at least two types of processing elements (for example, the classic CPU and GPU). First place went to Italian complex Eurora, which is based on clusters of Eurotech Aurora HPC 10-20, combining eight-core processors Xeon E5-2687W and accelerators NVIDIA Tesla K20. For Eurora key index was 3208.83 megaflops per watt.
On the second line settled supercomputer Aurora Tigon with a ratio of 3179.88 megaflops per watt. It is also based on clusters of Eurotech Aurora HPC 10-20, which we discussed above. The former leader of Beacon (Appro GreenBlade GB824M, Xeon E5-2670, Xeon Phi 5110P) moved into third place - 2449.57 megaflops per watt. There was a place in the list for a supercomputer that uses graphics solutions AMD: SANAM (ASUS ESC4000/FDR G2, Xeon E5-2650, AMD FirePro S10000) took fourth place with the index 2351.10 megaflops per watt. Earlier this complex was located at the second position. Related Products :
