NVIDIA has introduced its new professional graphics card model Tesla K40 Atlas, designed for parallel computation on high performance servers and supercomputers.
The device is based on the graphic chip GK180 with 2880 shader units and 384-bit memory bus, which communicates with a standard 12 GB GDDR5 memory . In fact, the graphics adapter is a new revision of the modified chip GK110 (Tesla K20X/K20), which also contains 2880 shaders physically, but some of them (192 pcs., One SMX-block) are disabled. The maximum graphics performance is 1,4 TFLOPS for double-precision operations, at about 4 TFLOPS of single precision operations (ie, by 20 and 14% more than the Tesla K20 with its 1,17 TFLOPS and 3,52 TFLOPS), a memory bandwidth of 288 GB / s.
Video card stands out for its high energy efficiency by consuming 235-245 watts and has a full bus support PCIe 3.0. Related Products :
