One of the first company to conquer the server market was Calxeda, which started with servers based on 32-bit processors with ARM-architecture, and by the end of 2014 promised to introduce products based on 64-bit solutions.
However, those plans did not materialize because Calxeda officially announced decommissioning activities. The reason is very simple - the company has run out of funds. According to outside experts, Calxeda hurried to exit the market. The company prides itself was among the pioneers of the idea of a server-based processors ARM, and leaving it, has no doubt changed the industry forever.
Calxeda started its activities in 2008, one of the most active investors was holding itself ARM, which has invested $ 100 million in this startup. The further development of the company was unable to find the money, so the board decided to close down its operations to save the remaining capital. Nearly 130 employees of the company will be forced to look for another job.
