In late December, USB-IF organization promised to present a new connector - type C. At sufficiently compact size - it is comparable with the familiar Micro USB (type B) - C-type connector is double-sided. This means that the plug can be inserted in either side. Type C will support the standard USB 3.1 specification and USB Power Delivery.
At CES 2014 USB-IF representatives once again talk about the connectors type C. It is important that the C-type connectors is not oriented can be used as the controller, or concentrator, and on the peripheral device side, completely replacing the types A and B. For the sake of developers had to sacrifice backward compatibility: Type C will not be able to work with other types of connectors and require the use of special adapters. USB-IF also decided to show the data transfer through USB 3.1 (implementation on FPGA Synopsis) at speeds up to 10 Gbit / s. The new standard will apply a more efficient mechanism for encoding data 132b/128b (10b/8b in USB 3.0), whereby the actual transfer rate can be up to 1 GB / s . Related Products :
