We have already mentioned that in the sphere of development of devices and technologies for wireless recharging has developed a very confusing situation. Three major industrial groups introduced three differing standards, of which two weeks ago reported on the early development of compatible specifications. This group of standards and Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP) and Power Matters Alliance (PMA). Alone is Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) and the standard Qi. The standard has a significant head start on the practical application that allows it to feel confident and continue to acquire supporters. Qi ecosystem today has 40 million devices and objects.
A few days ago, Microsoft and Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced joining the Steering Committee of the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). The company Samsung Electronics is also on par with Qualcomm organizer Alliance Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP). As part of Microsoft's WPC leadership Samsung promised to do everything in their power to promote the maximum standard Qi. Recall Qi standard is based on a simple electromagnetic induction, which imposes certain requirements for the orientation of transmitters and receivers of energy, while the other two operate standard electromagnetic resonance effect and allow freer mutual orientation of the source and destination.
